In the project ECVET-TOUR (European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training) a model to visualize, accept and certificate knowledge, skills and competences (VQTS) is transferred to one of Europe's most important economic sectors. The ambivalence evoked in the project title means both application of the ECVET-system to tourism and the facilitated mobility in terms of a "tour d'Europe". The project partners are well grounded in handling of projects and are from economically similarly structured regions. The integration of institutions which are organized in social partnership reflects their significant role in the field of vocational education. The distribution of partners from Austria, Germany, Poland and Spain reflects national singularities and allows the comparison of alternative ways of education.
